Hurunui College is an area school catering to students from Yr 1-13 and is looking to employ a part time, term time only groundskeeper for general upkeep of the school grounds starting in January 2025.

The role will include weeding and spraying gardens, applying mulch to gardens, collecting rubbish and recycling from around the school, cleaning and setting the school up ready for the start of each day.

Hours of work would be 7.30am until 10.30am Monday-Friday, during school term time.

There is a possibility of additional hours of work in the school holidays, this would be discussed on a term-by-term basis depending on school requirements and your availability at the time.

The role would suit someone with a high level of fitness as the work can be physically demanding. The ability to work supervised is essential as this role is directed by school management to ensure the role fits in around the teaching programme and urgent work is advised and prioritised.

Our school works under several Acts, including
(Children's Act 2014, Education and Training Act 2020, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015), therefore as part of the application process we gather information to verify your last 5 years work history and complete police vetting before the role is confirmed.
