If you enjoy cooking and do have some experience in a kitchen/bistro we may have the job for you! An exciting opportunity is now available at The Makarewa Country Club for the position of Head Bistro Cook. We are a small, chartered
club on the outskirts of Invercargill situated on the main road at Makarewa.

Our club has an inviting bar and restaurant facilities along with a large separate function room.

As a bistro cook you would be in charge of a small team of staff as required to help out. You would need to be organized, take pride in what you do, be able to work unsupervised and take the lead when others are working with you.

You will have the opportunity to put your own spin on things as we are a club that welcomes new ideas and initiatives. Our club is open from Wed to Sun and bistro from 5 pm and closes around 8.30 pm. Hours of work do range but are approx. 35-40 hours per week. We also cater for various functions at times - Pool and Dart competitions, in-house sports and fishing events, raffle nights, birthday parties, weddings, etc.

Being a local Community Country Club, you will be part of a small friendly team along with a strong committee to support you and assist with any needs you may have.
