Voluntary Position

The Waitaki District Council (the Council) invites expressions of interest from members of the public interested in serving as a Company Director on Omarama Airfield Limited (OAL). This is a voluntary position working on behalf of the community.

We are looking for applicants with excellent business and governance skills, ideally in the area(s) of finance. property, health and safety and/or legal.

Skills and experience related to the aviation sector, in particular, non-glider categories, is beneficial. A good knowledge of the Omarama and wider area is also desirable.

OAL is owned 50:50 by Waitaki District Council and Omarama Soaring Centre Incorporated (which is made up of a collection of gliding clubs). Directorship appointments are considered
confidentially by Council’s Shareholder Subcommittee, which will submit recommendations to Council. Appointment decisions will be made by Council, acting as shareholder.
